Formerly known as Taiwan Film Institute (TFI) and other earlier names, it is an incorporated foundation established in 1978, which aims at preserving only Taiwanese and Chinese films.

Transitioning into an administrative public entity as the national center for film and audiovisual heritage under a new bill passed in 2019, TFI is rebranded with a new name called Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute (TFAI). And the institute's scope of collection and research will be expanded from movies to radio and television content, thus better preserving Taiwan's audiovisual heritage.

With a new headquarter building set up in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei City, the institute is looking for new upgrade with a brand new corporate identity system. And logo is one of the important element.

I was involved in the very early stage of CI design, pitching to TFAI. Working together with fellow graphic designers, I was assisting them with some motion test/ logo animation, in order to better illustrate logo's potential and application.
Expanding the use of a logo as mere symbol or an overlay on the corner of video, it can also be used as a container for different uses like a short promo clip.
